Itivuttaka - As It Was Said

Comprises 112 suttas, each consisting of a prose portion followed by a verse portion.

Grouped into 4 unequal sections arranged, like the Anguttara Nikāya, according to the number of items they contain, from one to four. The four sections are further subdivided into vaggas, groups of roughly ten suttas.

Each passage is preceded by the phrase "iti vuttam bhagavata" ("thus was said by the Buddha").
