Jātaka - Birth Stories (of the Buddha)
Comprises 547 poems / stories in mixed verse (gāthās) and prose recounted by the Buddha. In these birth stories are embedded moral principles and practices which the bodhisatta had observed for self-development and perfection to attain Buddhahood.
